Night Watchman - Security

Job Description:

Seeking a reliable Night Watchman to provide overnight security on the farm premises and to secure equipment and construction site areas on an aquaculture (fish) farm near Humpty Doo, NT (45 minutes south of Darwin).

Previous experience in a surveillance role is preferred, however training will be provided to applicants who demonstrate strong self-motivation and work ethic.

Daily tasks will include 

• - Locking down and opening up the premises
• - Monitoring alarms, surveillance systems and farm premises for entry of personnel and visitors
• - Regular physical security checks throughout the premises
• - Reporting and attending to any incidents that may affect the safety of fish stock
• - Preparation of work areas and equipment for incoming day shift staff.

Essential skills and experience 

• - Ability to work independently and without direction
• - Ability to read and interpret instruction manuals
• - Ability to report to work consistently, on time and work to a flexible schedule, including some weekend work
• - Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner with the ability to problem solve
• - Perform general labouring duties to support Harvest and Post Harvest crew
• - Basic computer skills for data entry
• - Farming industry, surveillance and fish husbandry experience are desirable Work will be night shifts only for 12 hours
