Job # 30818 Location WA - Regional
Duration 8-10 weeks Suburb Northbridge
Industry Agriculture Direction Geraldton to Esperance Regions
Hours per week 70   ($25+)

Job Description:

The Job Shop is taking expressions of interest for the upcoming grain harvest season in Western Australia, between October - December 2020.

We are interested in applicants with the right skills to drive either a Chaser Bin or Header (Combine).

We've recruited for the same farmers for many years and these clients offer a good workplace and fair pay and conditions for their staff. All machinery is modern and in good condition with GPS autosteer.

Our clients are situated from Geraldton right down to Esperance in Western Australia.

Most farms in Western Australia will start grain harvest in October and the season will last through until the end of December. The duration will depend on the specific farm, but applicants can expect 8-10 weeks of solid work, as well as long hours during harvest, with most farms running their machinery on 12+ hour shifts, 6-7 days a week (weather dependent).

For all positions, accommodation will be provided and some farms offer meals while harvesting.

Pay rate will be negotiated based on experience level. Chaser bin drivers can expect between $24-27/hour and experienced header operators between $28-35/hour.

Even though the main task will be to drive a machine, staff are expected to assist with general maintenance work and some farm labouring when required.

Applicants must have the following:
- Previous experience operating large scale farming machinery
- Manual drivers license (minimum)
- Mechanical abilities to be able to take on general maintenance work on machinery
- Recent employment references
- Ability to work without constantly checking mobile phone!

Experience working on a broadacre cropping property is highly preferred.
