Job Description:

A busy remote hotel in the NT requires an experienced Hotel Manager to join their team. Couples are encouraged to apply.

Position Summary: Reporting to the Director, the Hotel Manager is responsible for the daily management of the Hotel including stock control, customer information, daily sales reports, hiring and training of staff, day-to-day business communication, marketing and promotion and other duties as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities: The Hotel Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Hotel. Supervision of the Hotel staff is required to ensure good customer service and compliance with RSA and other statutory requirements

Key Responsibilities • Effectively organize and oversee all hotel duties including reservations, bookings and customer accounts, ordering and stock control and basic office procedures; • Supervises, trains staff and assigns duties and responsibilities; • Manage the reservation system including processing of credit card payments and account sales; • Conduct day end closing procedures and reconcile reports as necessary. • Ensure deposits and account sales are forwarded to central accounts office for banking and invoice processing; • Maintain the efficient organization of meal planning. • Ensure optimal customer relations by responding effectively to customer requests; • Ensure the accurate recording and organization of staff timesheets, work schedules and related payroll information & forward to central accounts office; • Provide reports on occupancy and sales trends to Director as required; • Ensure that the office and general workplace meets the highest of standards for cleanliness and organization. Delegate clean-up activities as required; • Perform other duties as required including collection of stores/supplies on a weekly basis (requires Truck Licence)

Qualifications: • Ability to satisfy NT Nominee licensing and RSA criteria • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in all aspects of hotel management • Proficiency in application software – Ideally Microsoft Office suite • Sound written and verbal communication skills including problem solving and conflict resolution skills • Ability to manage and motivate a small staff team • Sound organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines • Truck license • Ability to live and work in a remote area


There are lots of beautiful places to hike around the area, so this is a great spot for people who love the outdoors and would like to experience the remote Northern Territory.

The ability to work independently in a remote environment needs to be considered before applying for this role. There is limited phone service - only Optus. Your own vehicle is not essential, but would be very useful as this is such a remote location.
