|Job #||30504||Location||WA - Perth|
|Duration||8-10 weeks||Suburb||Western Australia|
|Hours per week||80+ ($25+)|
The Job Shop is taking expressions of interest for the upcoming seeding season, between April and June/July.
We are looking for people who are interested in either Air Seeder or Boom Spray Operator roles.
Our agency has recruited for the same farmers for many years and we only work with clients who offer a good workplace and fair pay and conditions for staff. All machinery is modern and in good condition with GPS autosteer.
Our clients are all over the wheatbelt in Western Australia - from Geraldton down to Esperance. If you have a particular area you want to be in, just let us know.
Most farms in WA will start seeding late April and the season will last through until late June / early July. The duration will depend on the specific farm, with most jobs lasting between 8-10 weeks. Some farms will start hiring as early as February for pre-seeding duties such as maintenance and fencing for applicants available sooner.
Staff can expect long hours during seeding, with most farms running their machinery on 12+ hour shifts, 6-7 days a week (weather dependent).
For all roles, accommodation is provided and some farms also offer meals while seeding.
Pay rate will be negotiated based on experience level. Air Seeder Operators can expect between $25-30/hour.
Even though these are machinery operating roles, staff are expected to assist with general maintenance work and some farm labouring when required.
Applicants must have the following skills and attributes:
- Previous experience operating large scale farming machinery
- Excellent English
- Drivers license
- Some mechanical skills to be able to take on general maintenance work
- Recent employment references
- Ability to work without constantly checking mobile phone!
We consistently receive excellent feedback from machinery operators that we place in seeding roles, many of whom return to their same farm or try a new farm for seeding season the next year.
If you are interested in a job for the seeding season, please register and apply for this job online. Our staff will get in touch with you to discuss your experience and what options might suit you.
These positions will count as visa extension.
