Forklift Drivers - Katherine, NT

Starting early October, we are looking for experienced forklift operators to join a large mango farm for 8-12 weeks work in Katherine, Northern Territory.
Applicants must have an Australian Forklift Ticket and be able to make a genuine commitment to this position for the harvest period.
The role will entail 80% forklift driving to load and unload products and supplies on and off of trucks and move pallets. 20% of the work will involve assisting with manual duties such as packing or moving boxes in the shed.
The successful applicants will be working within the packing shed in one of these roles -
Despatch/Coolroom Forklift Driver - Responsibilities are
- Load and unload produce/raw materials transport vehicles
- Organise coolrooms
- Operate cooling systems within coolrooms
- Attention to details to ensure accurate pallets are loaded
Recievals Forklift Driver - Responsibilities are
- Unload and marshall full mango bins into correct area
- Load and unload bins from a bin tipper
- Load empty bins for transport to the field
Applicants must have
- Australian Forklift license essential and experience operating in a fast paced environment
- Team player
- Attention to detail
- Good spoken English
- Transport to and from work
Casual pay rate will be $25.79 - $26.76/hour in accordance with the Horticulture Award.
Accommodation may be provided on site at cost. The farms are located 20kms - 30kms from Katherine town centre where you can find reasonable accommodation in motels and caravan parks. Own transport essential.
The weather during the tropical wet season will be very hot and humid (30’c-40’c) and work will be outdoors.
Australians and Katherine locals are encouraged to apply. This position will also count towards the 2nd year visa for WHM’s travelling on a 417 or 462 visa.
If you are travelling around Australia following the harvest trail, there will be the opportunity to pick up more work in North Queensland following the harvest in the Northern Territory.
