Job Description:

Starting between now and August, a family-run 5500 hectare cropping farm near Calingiri WA (2 hours north of Perth) is looking for a full-time cropping farmhand.

Permanent Residents Only

The farm runs a continuous cropping operation including wheat, barley, canola, lupins and export hay. The business runs a modern fleet of machinery and uses the latest cropping technology. In addition to the farm owner, there is currently one full-time employee, with 3-4 casuals employed during seeding and harvest.

This person will be responsible for broad-acre machinery operation, maintenance and general farm work. The position will suit someone with a strong interest in crop production and machinery. Preference will be given to someone with a positive attitude, self-motivation, good communication skills, computer literacy, and who is keen to work as part of a small team. 

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and abilities:
- Experience operating modern broad-acre machinery with GPS
- Good general mechanical skills
- HR or MC license
- Excellent communication and technology skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment

Remuneration package includes:
- Hourly pay rate, to be negotiated based on experience,  including 4 weeks annual leave, 10 days personal/sick leave and paid public holidays
- Housing provided to suit personal/family requirements
