Stationhands for Cattle Mustering
2 position(s) | 25 Mar 2019 - 2-3 months+
|Job #||29096||Location||WA - Regional|
|Industry||Agriculture||Direction||Newman Area, WA|
|Hours per week||50+ ($1000/week+)|
Starting in late March, two experienced station hands are required for a large cattle station in remote Northern Western Australia, near Newman. The jobs will last 2-3 months minimum through mustering, potentially longer.
Due to lack of rain, mustering will start at the end of March/early April and should last for 6-8 weeks. Once that is finished in May, staff will be working on yard building, fencing, maintenance work and general livestock work. There may be a bit more mustering work again in August.
Mustering is done with 4WD Landcruisers, so applicants must have a drivers license and be able to drive a 4WD.
This is a very well-run station and applicants for this role must have a strong livestock background. People with previous station experience are preferred, but we are willing to consider those who have good experience with cattle who have not worked on a station before.
Single accommodation is provided with shared bathroom and kitchen facilities amongst 8 others for $50 per week, as well as meals. The accommodation is single mens quarters, so these roles would not suit a female or couples.
Starting wage is $1000/week (before tax). There is potential for someone with multiple seasons of mustering experience to earn more. Work is 5 1/2 days each week and over time rates will be paid if you do more.
Fantastic station to work on with a really great crew! 2 of our mustering staff from last year are returning again this year as they really enjoyed the experience.
