A large cattle station in the Northern Territory between Darwin and Alice Springs requires an experienced cook to start around September 11th for at least 3 months or longer.
As the sole station cook, you will cooking for a crew of 45 and managing the kitchen area. The cook starts at 5.15am and works through until 12pm and then again from 4.30pm - 7.30pm. Morning shift includes cooking breakfast and smoko for the crew and preparing lunches which is generally leftovers from the night and salads kept in containers. 4-30pm onwards is a hot buffet style dinner. The station have a BBQ every Friday night so the cook gets the night off. Other duties include cleaning the kitchen and ordering food (online). The food is delivered to the station weekly.
Applicants must have:
- Experience cooking for large groups - station / camp cooking strongly preferred
- Ability to work in a remote area
- Time management and organisational skills
- Police clearance (or be willing to obtain one)
Daily pay rate is $197.30 and the cook generally works 6 days a week.
Accommodation provided in a donga with a double bed and en-suite plus all meals for $43/week.
