Where is the work?

I thought you would like to know the latest on the jobs front at the moment, so if you are still looking for work , or who have friends that are, please read on.

1. We are still looking for machinery operators to work on farms in South Australia and Western Australia. We need people with an agricultural background and solid machinery experience. The work involves driving large equipment to sow broadacre crops.

We have an outstanding position available in the South East of South Australia on a mixed farm that offers a lot of variety follow this link for more info http://www.thejobshop.com.au/search_view.php?jobID=9072

There is also other similar jobs available in WA

2. Harvest work

We have been inundated with jobseekers wanting to know whats going on with harvest work. The south of WA is coming to a close... grape harvest is over, apples and pears are just about finished and the melon season is also over. There will be various harvest jobs trickling through but not a huge influx of jobs. The main harvest area in WA will be in Kununurra, 3300 ks North East of Perth. There will be sandalwood forestry planting, pruning, weeding and then melon work, BUT THE SEASON HAS BEEN DELAYED DUE TO THE VERY WET WET SEASON AND THE ROAD IS CUT FROM BROOME TO KUNUNURRA WHILST A BRIDGE IS REPAIRED. OUR ADVICE IS THERE WILL BE GOOD WORK IN THE REGION WHEN THE SEASON GETS UNDERWAY IN A FEW WEEKS TIME . AS IT IS A POPULAR PLACE FOR JOBSEEKEERS, AND THE GROWERS USUALLY REQUIRE IMMEDIATE STARTS, THE WORK IS GIVEN TO PEOPLE WHO ARE IN TOWN.

There is longer term jobs available in the area for people with irrigation experience, machinery knowledge etc Check out job no 9198 if you can commit for the rest of the year

3. Hospitality

There is always a good selection of roadhouse, country pub and resort work for people who are well presented, with great customer service experience and a great personality. We are starting to obtain vacancies, not just in WA but in Northern Territory and Queensland.

Until next time

All the best
