Hello,
Well things are changing rapidly on the jobs front. For the last 3 months we have had a massive standby list in Kununurra for people looking for harvest work. Now we do not have a STANDBY LIST! Everyone has either got work or moved on.
As the weather warms we are seeing a big demand for more melon and pumpkin pickers and the mango season is just around the corner.
If you are looking for this type of work it's a good idea to consider heading to Kununurra. You may have to wait a day or two, or even a week, but if you have done harvest work, are not frightened of hard work in the hot sun, this is the place to be.
For those of you in the south of WA, we have just filled 30 jobs near Perth, pruning fruit trees. As spring approaches, the demand for harvest workers will also grow and you can be sure there will be some great opportunities.
We are always looking for people to work in country pubs and roadhouses. these are awesome jobs, you get your meals and accommodation provided (usually your own room) and it's a great way to meet authentic Australians. You will usually earn $400-$500 a week after tax. This work does not however, count for visa extension work for your 2nd WHV
My number one tip for travellers is still the same, If you have your own vehicle, you have a MUCH BETTER CHANCE OF FINDING A GREAT JOB. So many jobs now want the jobseeker to have their own vehicle, especially harvest jobs.
Until next time , enjoy your travels and we look forward to finding you your next awesome work experience....totally FREE!
Cheers
